in the 80's there was a huge outbreak of std's in the porn scene... after that they came up with a rule that all porn stars had to be tested frequently (i'm not sure how much exactly) however now the scene is pretty clean. there is always the chance of another outbreak but that is just the risk they take being in that profession.

Because they are usually tested at least once a month for STDs and aren't allowed to work if they think that they may have been exposed to one.

who says they don't have STD's? Sleeping with a variety of people greatly increases your chances of getting a whole menu of STD's, pregnancy, health problems in general...
i think regardless of your profession the general rule should be:
"don't be a fool--wrap your tool"--which I stole from Van Wilder
or
"don't sleep with people that sleep around"

They have an std test every month. and they are told to avoid sex with people.

they have to do testing before they get onto a porn set, 6 months out, I believe. it is posted on the web.

condoms and they are REQURIED to have checks done every so often can't remember how many months apart they are but they are checked all the time for std's and other different stuff

Because these days EVERYONE has to be tested and they are tested constantly. If they come up positive....they're out.
