I heard at my Weight Watchers meeting that 80% of weight loss is just from eating differently. I recommend the Flex Plan of Weight Watchers. There are so many older ones and others with fibromyaligia, osteoarthritis, and other diseases that makes them not as active as they would like to be. Weight Watchers helps you change the way you eat. The focus is not on not eating, but on eating the right things. Everyone can do this weight loss program...I have lost 18 pounds so far and a rarely excercise.

Eat less or no fatty foods. Cakes ,pastries, white bread, fried foods, butter, cheese come into this heading. Have no sugar as it is nothing more than calories. Drink no alcohol or sugary drinks. Water is best. Eat whole grain foods as the calories contained are slowly released thus keeping up some energy levels for longer periods. You cannot exercise but do not remain static for hours on end. Walk and move around as best you can as this will burn off calories. Best of luck as I am a very active person and enjoy walking and sports which give me exercise. I cannot begin to imagine what it must be like to be grounded in this way.
Happy Easter

Have same problem and same lung condition. Have you done the pulmonary re-hab yet? Ask your consultant or GP.
It is advised to exercise every day - ie walking, I think you can improve your level of fitness over time although I have not lost any weight yet and I don't eat excessively either.
Also I do arm and chest exercises as well as stepping exercises 3 x a week.
Doing the pulmonary re-hab will point you in right direction and you can improve your fitness level, may be able to managing line dancing eventually too.

Eat a balance diet, try to eat spirulina, IG6, drink pure water, it may help to improve your emphysema. Then do some light exercise like strolling in the park. P.S. do not take a stroll in the park in the night, this is because the tree and plant is taking oxygen and producing CO2. Cheers to your health.

Stop eating sugar and bread, eat more veggies and fit your meat serving in the palm of you hand.... that is all you need. Slowly add fruit and grain into your diet. Check out atkins or a ketogentic diet. I am also struggling.... but cutting out sugar and bread I feel more rested and have more energy. Good luck and hope you lose the wieght I also recommend a buddy to prepare meals with, that seems to help me.

you need to go for a balanced weight management program where you change your diet and do exercise at the same time.i suggest qigong or taichi where it is very slow and the focus is on proper breathing and body control first.at the same time increase fruits vege and water intake while cutting down (not out) on meats and processed sugar and carbs.
i had severe asthma and couldnt even walk up the stairs, this really helps.the lighter you get the easier it'll be.

Cut your calories intake for 10-15% (limit your intake of pastries, bread, sweets and fats)
Take walks for at least 20 min (as fast as you can)
Consult your doctor if you can practice yoga or basic pilates (they will not stress your lungs)
And ask your friends and family to give you support.

You dont nessesary have to exercise to lose weight...
Exercise makes losing weight faster and makes your body muscle stronger that's all...
In your case, control what you eat right now... Take smaller portions than you use to... Cut your intake on fatty foods like Fast Foods, Junk Foods, and Oily Foods...

Larger hospitals have pulmonary rehab clinics or can put you in touch with one, your breathing is monitored during exercise.
Maximum muscle use is achieved prior to running out of breath.(i.e. you can walk further) resulting in calorie burning and weight loss combined with a proper diet.

you'll lose a touch of weight, yet ten pounds is type of pushing it. that's plausible, yet why no longer exercising a touch? basically walk around the block some circumstances per week. you do not ought to do some thing strenuous.
