first of all DO NOT go up to your husband and accuse him of cheating on you for 1 very good reason. HPV does not effect men, for the most part most men will never even know they have the virus.

HPV is a virus that is spread extremely easily, and yes it can be transfered other way (sexually speaking) other than intercourse.

If you were a virgin when you married your husband and he was a virgin with you, then I have to ask if this was your first pap smear? If you have had pap smears in the past, and did not have HPV in the past, then I suspect your husband has been cheating on you recently. If this is your first pap smear, it may be possible that you had it before -- perhaps one of those relatives went farther than you remember? I'm sorry that this has happened to you. Ask your doctor to test you for other sexually trasmitted diseases, because you may have something else as well. Follow all your doctors directions. Your husband may need to be treated as well. Many people have HPV and live very well, but there is the danger of cervical cancer once you've had HPV, so you will always need to get pap smears.

You can get HPV just from touching body parts, you don't neccessarily have to have intercourse, this is the reason HPV is so common.

From what the doctor told me, like 80% of us just have it and it just stays dormant until it gets active, i really dont understand why but thats what he said.

I would get a second opinion just to make sure. I hope he hasn't been cheating on you.
