Severe anxiety can bring on a feeling that you are suffering a genuine heart attack, but it is really a panic attack which mimics the feeling of one.It can be very frightening because you think you are going to die.

Peter I cannot say I have heard of an anxiety heart attack but Ihave heard of anxiety attacks that affect the heart. People pass out from there. Their level of anxiety is so high the body goes into overload and they pass out, it is almost like fear. They cannot face something extreme in their life or it has built up and off goes the anxiety alarm. It can also be caused from proper nutrition...

I got book on panic attacks at the Mall along with postive thinking by Norman Vencit peal. reading the book let me know how to change my thinking and get the attackes out of my mind.I had one this morning but over can it. My blood preasure was like 225 over 125 at one time I was haveing them. Like leave a pool of sweat if stand to long. I take treatments for the cancer now. I really had one there, you are tied down can't move a muscel. So when I lay there I thinb God is laying beside me and that assures me that I a not alone. I handel the treatments very well now. My family is all gone except a younger sister. Mom at 57 Dad at 61 Brother at 62 I/m 67 . Told a friend I had to be lucky making it like this.If you look at me you would never know I was disable like this. She told me I was blessed that God wanted me to do something for him. So I believe her just waiting on his call to do it. Thats why I get thur them,.Used to have two or three a day but now just once in a while. But you can over come it if you understand how to change your subconscious. Having a pretty good life now.

I am an experienced nurse of 35 years and have never heard the expression"anxiety heart attack": Seldom is the expression "heart attack" used technically..
Most certainly, anxiety can provoke a myocardial infarction or anginal pain by accelerating the heart rate and increasing the oxygen demands of heart muscle.and by the release of epinephrine and nor-epinephrine.
Severe chest discomfort can arouse fear or anxiety that one is experiencing cardiac muscle damage : This is quite common.
Postmortems from WWII pilots that crashed ,lead researches to believe that the heart muscle actually died from the fear of dying (impact)
Hope this helps

Perhaps you are thinking of stress (as opposed to anxiety) which is one of the contributing factors to heart disease
