I know this may not be the right place to be asking for donations, but being that I don’t know that many people I figured this couldn’t hurt.
This June I will be riding in the Tour de Cure, a bike ride aimed to raise money for diabetes research, education, and advocacy. I have set a personal goal of raising $175 and a team goal of $1,200. So far my we’ve only raised 12% of our desired goal. With your help we could achieve our goal and, more importantly, we can exceed it.

Sorry, I've gotten far more help for my diabetes from books, the Internet, and others who have it and are successful at taking care of it. To me the ADA is like the AMA... I'll just leave it at that so as to keep the thumbs downs to a manageable level.

I will not donate to ADA and yes, I'm a diabetic. I believe that any person who has diabetes should automatically be a member of this organization because they have the disease. But, when I called to become a member, they wanted a membership fee. When I told them I lived on a very fixed income and cannot afford that, they basically told me that I can't become a member. Well, I think that is wrong. If someone needs the services, regardless of income, they should be allowed. I cannot believe they "discarded" me like that. I will not donate to that orgazination and am appalled at anyone who would ask for donations on this site.

I'm a 45 year old woman and was recently diagnosed as being a borderline diabetic. My doctor prescribed some medication, but before filling it I decided to do some research on the internet which led me to the methods. i would ask a store owner to let you set up a table out side and ask for donations. or i would sell hotdogs for donation or whatever, if you are trying to rais funds your not gonna get them on the internet. Find real people, even if you don't know them
