I have been on antibiotics for a lung infection. 2 days into taking them, I started to get pretty severe upper-mid back pains at night. It would wake me, and keep me awake. In the morning, it is hard to move...it feels a lot like sleeping on a terrible matress. It doesn't last as long, it usually goes away within 10min of getting up. I called the pharmacist who said that it is not a typical side effect from the antibiotics. I have one antibiotic left to take...could this back pain just be related to my lung infection?

>>Absolutely could be related to your lung infection! Have you called your doctor back? Will probably make you feel better about it. Could it be that the antibiotics are not working as they should?

When you have a severe lung infection, YES back pain is common. You might have to get another prescription. Be careful!!! That could turn into ammonia. Take care of yourself and get plenty of rest. You may need to consult your doctor again. Hope you feel better soon.
