i got chest pain, shortness of breath, fast heart beat, sharp pain in stomach, back, arm, shoulder. they are all symthoms of heart disease. i just went to my doctor, and he gave me the usual response "let's do some test and we'll see the result in the next few days". i'm really worried about it. i mean, i don't want to wait a few days for the lab to do the stupid test. i mean by the time they send the doctor the result i could be dead. so my question is, if i go to emergency room, will they do the test immediately and tell me the result in a few hours?

my real question, which none of the answer has addressed, was if i go to emergency room, will they tell me the result in a few hours? or they will just do the test then kick me home and call me back for the result in a few days?

go to hospital now... if you've had a heart attack.. they will know buy your blood tests.. and yes, those results will be given to you at the hospital....

If they don't give you the results( which is extremely out of the ordinary) INSIST on them...

Go to the ER. They will do an EKG and a quick blood test to determine if you are having a heart attack. The rest can wait on your doctor. Its important to get help in like the first 30 minutes after a heart attack so medications can be delivered that reduce damage to the heart.

Yes, you should go to the hospital. If you already suspect heart disease and are having the symptoms you've described you may possibly be having a mild heart attack. Take a couple aspirin to help thin your blood in case there is a blockage and call an ambulance. I hope that what your experiencing is nothing more than extreme gas pains, but it's better to be safe than sorry!

Hello! Well I am forty one weeks pregnant and feature been at Blanchfield health facility in Fort campbell, K.Y. (army) and I have had not anything however dangerous studies to this point. I have not noticeable a truly health care provider but and it is been an additional mid spouse each time. Your dealt with like a quantity as a substitute then a character. When I attempted discussing my delivery plan with the final mid spouse she stated there used to be no factor in me speakme to her approximately it rationale she would not be there for my supply besides. I sit down within the ready room for a minimum of 30 min after my appointment time each time and each and every person who works there's simply impolite. If I might see a civilian health care provider I might however given my protection I'm no longer allowed. I'm no longer looking to scare you however all my enjoy were poor. I have alot of peers who've had those style of problems with this specified health facility so I can not say it is all army however I might stick to civilian care. Anyway I wish this is helping a little bit as a substitute then sounding like a venting consultation. Good good fortune with the whole lot!!

From some of your other questions/answers, it sounds like you are young. It could be anxiety/panic. At your age, it is probably not your heart. Is anything unusual happening now? You said you were in school. Any big exams coming up?

At least, take an aspirin. That might help you relax by knowing that it is the best thing to do for your heart.

if you went to the ER with those symptoms they wouldent have sent you home after just taking a test. your question makes no sense. if you are really having these symptoms go to the ER NOW your heart muscle is dying and the dead parts will turn into useless scars, the longer you wait the more likely to much of your heart will die and if it dies you die

I totally agree w pp!! If in doubt have it checked out. While it could be nothing serious (something like a panic attack has the same symtomps as heart attack) but then again it could be life threating. If you are even having the slight chance of doubt you need to get checked out.

PLEASE GO TO THE ER NOW. ANY AND ALL CHEST PAIN NEEDS TO BE CHECKED OUT. BUT YES IT DOES TAKE TIME. SERIAL HEART TESTS TAKE TIME, USUALLY 8 HOURS APART BECAUSE IF IT IS YOUR HEART, TESTS COULD BE NORMAL AT FIRST. THAT IS THE REASON FOR PUTTING YOU IN THE HOSPITAL(WHICH ANY RESPECTING DOCTOR WOULD DO), SO TESTS CAN BE DONE TO CHECK FOR ANY CHANGES LIKE BLOOD TESTS, HEART RHYTHM TESTS, X-RAYS, AND TREATING YOUR PAIN WITH OXYGEN AND PAIN MEDICINE. BECAUSE IF IT IS YOUR HEART, PAIN RELIEF IS IMPORTANT, PAIN RELIEF MEANS HEART/STRESS RELIEF! PLEASE GO NOW, I ALWAYS TELL MY PATIENTS I HAD RATHER SEE YOU GO FOR NOTHING THEN TO STAY AT HOME AND HAVE A HEART ATTACK. GOOD LUCK, HOPE EVERYTHING IS OK.

they will do all the necessary tests that the doctor would do. they will probably do some blood work and hook you up to an ekg mchine first. then take it from there. but if you are feeling that bad, it wouldnt hurt to go to the er.
