It depends on the severity of the liver cancer. Is is amonia critically elevated? Is he awake or in a "comotose" state?
If the above are yes and yes than no.
However he may pull through, its really hard to predict with these situations without seeing the patient and the labs.

I'm so sorry to hear about your father's cancer. And I'm so, so sorry to tell you that it is unlikely that he can recover. I wish there were better news, but I'm afraid there is not.
One of my very good friends went into the hospital with liver cancer in January. Three weeks later she was gone. She developed the jaundice very quickly, she got pneumonia a couple days before she died.

It's sad, heartbreaking, and sometimes unbelievable that there isn't anything that can be done. But for some reason, when it comes to cancers like that of the liver, that's just the way it is. :(

I hope you've had a chance to talk with him and tell him everything you want him to hear from you. It will give him peace to have the people around him tell him they love him and they're so thankful they were chosen to spend their life on this earth with him. Take care, honey.

First of all I am so sorry to hear this. I know because I went through the same thing with my own father, except he had brain cancer and was going through treatment when he got pneumonia.

Yes, he can recover. I don't know the extent of his liver cancer or what his prognosis is, but remember, if he recovers from this he will still have to battle THAT.

My dad died as a result of his pneumonia and I don't want to tell you that to scare you or bum you out, but the truth of the matter is that it was a blessing in disguise because he didn't have to suffer from the pain and loss of his functions as a result of his cancer.

Pray that whatever is meant to be, will be with the least amount of suffering for your dad.

I had jaundess when I was a baby, and I recovered from that. But terminal liver cancer sounds pretty bad. There is always room in the world for a miracle, though. Don't give up on your dad.

I'm sorry to hear about your dad. My father also died from liver cancer. If you were told he's in stage 4 terminal, then no he won't. My dad also got the pneumonia the last few weeks of his life. my father's death was not an easy one, and I dealt with 5 in the last few years. It can be very painful, even with the medications. My father went to a hospice center the last month, which was a wonderful place for him to be. I will put a prayer out to the stars for you and your father, hoping he will not suffer. Love ,peace, harmony rose

First of all, I am deeply sorry to hear it.

Jaundice is a side effect of liver damage.

Pneumonia may or may not be related, however with his system weakened from the cancer and its treatments, it will be much harder for him to fight the pneumonia.

Sadly terminal cancer means just that, that there is a definite end in sight. If he is a fighter, then that end may be further away. Good luck to you both.
