I make kabobs. You can get wooden sticks at the grocery store. I put mushrooms, sliced bell peppers, pearl onions and sliced potatoes on them and marinade them in lemon pepper marinade. You could a different flavor if you wanted. I cook them until the potatoes are soft.

It's hard to match the texture of meat, but firm tofu and most vegetables grill up nicely on the grill. It's amazing what you can grill: tomatoes, corn on the cob, asparagus, green beans, cabbage, carrots, etc. I would lightly coat with olive oil and some spices to make more zesty. But BBQ, I don't know that you can do that. Check out www.cookinglight.com for more vegan/vegetarian ideas.

Grilled corn on the bbq is yummy. I take off the hairs and rub butter all over it. Sprinkle some salt and pepper, and then wrap in aluminum foil. Throw it over the grill, flipping every few minutes until done. Yummmm.....

Potatoes.
If you sliver potatoes as if you were making french fries and then BBQ them they turn into french fries (surprise) but no oil necessary and they get a nice leathery chew to them.

I like to lightly steam some new potatoes, then thread them on wooden skewers with zuchini, pepper, onions, mushrooms, and other veggies, then I marinate them in olive oil, garlic, and fresh rosemary, then cook them on the grill. Portabello mushrooms are good grilled too
