this steroid inhaler comes with a spacer..and im not wheezing or anything like my normal daily symptoms before this is slight shortness of breath and wheezing..the dr i just saw said that this tightness he doesnt think is caused by the asthma cause there is no wheezing and i had this 6 weeks ago and it went away by its self eventully i know i need to take the steroid and the singulair he gave me to control it but right now i feel that with the first few times i used the azmacort it made my throat dry and that made it harder to breathe and singulair has tons of possible side effects so i dont want to add anythign to my problem

There is no such thing as an albuterol overdose... the most that can happen from high high doses is a increased heart rate and nervousness. I have personally seen patients recieve very high doses of albuterol (even gave very high to my own son) and no adverse reactions occured. However the steroid should only be taken as directed.

For example on the mdi overdose... a normal dose for unresponsive asthma in the hospital is 15puffs, and giving 15 unit doses of albuterol in a nebulizer over an hour is a normal thing.

I have asthma so I know how you feel. I don't think that you overdosed on albuterol. I think you need a medicine that will control your asthma so that your not sucking the albuterol so often. I used to need albuterol at least once an hour. The doctor prescribed advair and it works miracles. I don't need my albuterol anymore because the advair keeps my asthma under control. I still keep albuterol in my purse though cause you never know. I think you need to suffer a little when it comes to side effects....your body will eventually get used to the new medicine. If you really cant take it anymore, have the Doctor give you a different long term asthma medicine.

3 to 5 puffs at a time is an overdose

I had problems with the prescribed amount of 2 puffs every 4 hours I can only do 2 puffs a day

Some of the problems High blood pressure, widely varying pulse rates, poor circulation, swelling on the top side of my shoulder blades, very painful Charley horses, tight chest, occasional SOB All this stopped when I stopped using albuterol

I now use it only for a rescue unit, If I can, I use a nebulizer instead (cheaper)

Like you, i too have asthma. Lately, i've had a tightness in my chest too. (my asthma's acting up) To start, i've never heard of an overdose ofalbuterol causingtightness. (i'm not doubting you, just i pesonally haven't heard of it) I thought taking it made tightness go away. (i never overdosed, so i don't know) Second,do as you wish, but i reccomend taking Advair daily. If not that, try singulair. The only thing that happens to me when i overdose,is i get shaky and hyper. Listen, i hope you feel better, and try asking you doctor about taking advair or something daily. I really do hope you feel better

It sounds more likely your asthma is simply not well enough controlled. Did you get a spacer to go with your steroid inhaler? A few inches of plastic will make a world of difference, and it sounds like you really need the Azmacort, which has to be used regularly for a week or two before it begins to work.

Albuterol is a serious medicine, and overdoses can be very serious. My boyfriend of 12 years had a lung disease and used it for some relief. Even up to the last 2 weeks of his life my boyfriend's doctor warned him definately NOT to overdose on it.
Have you described your symptoms to your doctor as thoroughly as you have to us? If not, print out your symptoms in a list form so he can take a good look at them. I won't pretend I can diagnose you, or even offer more than the warning not to overdose with any medicine. But your symptoms say to me that you need to continue to pursue this with your doctor.

Ah however, if Madeleine bought keep of the bottle herself and took the entire contents??? That could kill her could it no longer? Depending at the contents within the bottle. And how do you provide an explanation for the sedative within the frame fluid/hair? *edit* They could have included it up, in a panic, in worry of it popping out that they sedated all their children to cause them to sleep, as the entire 3 kids could were verified they usually could were struck off, and the twins eliminated. I recognize the hair could end up sedatives got at a few factor handiest, however and not using a clinical list of a few such prescription, again at dwelling in HER GPs documents, it could end up the McCanns took it upon themselves to come to a decision to sedate the the baby. And even Dr father and mother arnt allowed to try this. She could want a prognosis of some thing like ADD for her GP to precribe a sedative. Sometimes they'll for an extended travel, however I assume such a lot GPs could say dont sedate your baby for a aircraft travel, its a laugh they usually must enjoy the joys of a aircraft experience.
