Yes, it would cause a drop in blood pressure, just like a sedative. You did not mention his age, but chest pain would be from the same affects as cigarette smoking. Smoking causes the arteries to become blocked and diseased over a period of time. If he is young, he could be having chest pain from holding his breath too long.

Marijuana can cause a drop in blood pressure...I have never heard of it causing chest pain.....You do not state an age but chest pain should never be ignored...it need to be checked as soon as possible...It is much better to be safe than sorry.....

yes. it will cause a drop in bp for most people. don't be afraid to ask your doctor...they are not interested in the legality. they would advise you properly in most cases
