How nice! Depending on how your man is used to eating his dinner, there are lots of ways to tone down a little and be romantic. However, in general, guys seem to enjoy "relaxed" more than "romantic". I would prepare his favorite food in his most comfortable eating place. (Some people don't enjoy eating at a table and would rather enjoy their dinner comfortably relaxing in the living room, for example.) My advice is to prepare something meaty like a filet mignon with a loaded baked potato or maybe lobster with garlic mashed potatos. I would set out clean, fresh utensils with maybe a single candle. Wear your most comfortable, flattering, relaxing outfit, give him a kiss and let him enjoy his dinner. Then, while he's moaning with the satisfaction of a wonderful dinner, clean up the dinner dishes and relax... Until dessert!!! Lol! :-)

Keep it simple. How about penne pasta noodles in a tomato sauce with mushrooms and some sprinkled parmesan cheese on top? You can buy really good cheesey garlic breadsticks in the store, and throw together a salad. For dessert, bake homemade chocolate chip cookies. Serve with a white wine, or whatever your favorite beverage. Light some candles and he will love it!

While your preparing dinner, bake a cake that contains cinnamon. The aromas alone will drive him crazy! Then consider what his tastes are. Here is an idea:

1. Chicken Breasts stuffed with artichoke hearts and feta cheese.
2. Rice pilaf with almonds
3. Spinach salad with fresh strawberries, candied walnuts and goat cheese and topped with a french dressing.
4. Pinot Grigio, icy cold
5. Vanilla Cinnamon cake with raspberry sorbet and a drizzle of chocolate sauce.

You should cook something simple but good...Try Cajun Seafood Pasta
2 cups heavy whipping cream
1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil
1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons ground black pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon ground white pepper
1 cup chopped green onions
1 cup chopped parsley
1/2 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
1/2 pound scallops
1/2 cup shredded Swiss cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 pound dry fettuccine pasta
Cook pasta in a large pot of boiling salted water until al dente.
Meanwhile, pour cream into large skillet. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until just about boiling. Reduce heat, and add herbs, salt, peppers, onions, and parsley. Simmer 7 to 8 minutes, or until thickened.
Stir in seafood, cooking until shrimp is no longer transparent. Stir in cheeses, blending well.
Drain pasta. Serve sauce over noodles

I hope by now you know what his favorite food is..
You will want to have *eye appeal* at the dinner table.
Have 2 candles in the center of the table with a single red rose in a bud vase in the center of the candles.

Lights dimmed... have all the food (what ever it is) presented on the table so you are not getting up and down *serving*

Clear the table and ask him to remain seated.....
Excuse yourself, put on your favorite longerie ***with an apron***
THEN
Deliver his favorite B-day cake with candles lit

A NIGHT TO BE FOREVER REMEMBERED...

Shellfish or prime steak. You can't go wrong. Be sure to start with a cocktail and maybe an appetizer you can feed each other. Keep dessert light so you don't "crash" before he gives you his reward ;o)
