How scary. That is really high. My son's was 1058 when he was dx over a year ago. I'll never forget that number!
She will be OK. She'll most likely be on an insulin drip for awhile and won't be able to eat anything. Once she's off the drip, she'll be able to check her sugar and do injections like she normally does and then have her meals.
Why did it go so high? She must have eaten too many carbs and not taken her insulin. Diabetes is a tough disease to deal with. She will be OK but tell her to be more careful next time! :-)

That is, of course a high sugar level, hyperglycemia. Has she taken her Insulin? Do not eat right now. Has she been stating or complaining of " I pee and pee and pee", is she excessively thirsty? She may actually have a sweet smell about her...kind of like "juicy fruit" gum. This blood sugar obviously needs to be corrected, the danger of being in such a state could lead to DKA, Diabetic-Keto-Acidosis, an unconscious-coma like state often accompanied by a "funny" blowing-off-air breathing pattern. She needs to be seen, if other transport is delayed I suggest 911. Good luck.

Could be in severe acidosis with a very low pH and need intensive care to correct it. Ate a lot of sugary foods and did not take her insulin. Don't know what to expect. She could go into a coma from the acidosis. The hospital should be able to find and fix the problem soon.

it is really good that she is already on her way to the hospital i am a diabetic too, but my sugar has never gone that high. but when its high, you should check your keytones, take some insulin, drink water, and excercise if you can... hope everything works out okay =]
