No ,a cotton shirt is fine with no metal or necklaces, no metal in bra or braless. Just tell Radiology tech you do not have metal in your bra or are not wearing one, whichever you decide on, and they will not make you change.

I am an x-ray tech. Wear a cotton t-shirt with no decorations. Go braless, because I don't know of any bras that closes with velcro in the back. You can take the ER doc's advice about not wearing deodorant, but the arm pitts are not in the lung area, and when the tech does the lateral view, the shoulder area is so wide and thick that the x-rays don't really penetrate that area.
Be sure to tell the tech, that you have no metal on anywhere in the chest area. He/she will most likely take your pics without changing.

The issue is more with your bra (IE the under wire and closure).
Any metal will show up in the x-ray, if your just wearing a tee you should be fine but some times the tech likes to make sure by having you put a gown on.

Usually you put on a gown. A t-shirt might be acceptable, but rules are rules often.

You should have any metallic or any other stuff e.g necklace of any material, that includes plastic too. Avoid talcum powder as well.
