I like both, but I prefer Sashimi. Rice just feels me up too quickly. I'd like to have more fish than rice. Yum yum ;)

Being a former chef and having eaten both most people prefer sushi mainly because it is a one bite food, sashimi is very good but it can be overwelming if your not prepared to eat a substantial amount of raw fish.
I remember my first time with sashimi, it was in Edmonton Alberta Canada at the Japanese Village restaurant on 101 av, I thought it was reasonably price so I figured it could not be a big meal, there is were I made my mistake, I had been eating sushi for 4-5 years at that time but was a little out of my league with this plate of food.
I would recommend if some one is going to try it, get it in a combination or all-in-one meal, were you get soup, sushi or sashimi and a cooked dish (yakitori, terriyaki or a konasuka) and dessert. This way your not wasting food if it is to much or more than you planned on.

Sashimi, i like the bigger cuts of fish. I find there's too much other stuff in sushi... but i'll order it anyway, i just order more sashimi.

I eat more sashimi than sushi. I just like it better. My gal is from japan. She likes live seafood. Ever try that?
