I totally agree with you, selfish and inconsiderate, it like they are saying well if I am going to get cancer I want you to get it too, as they blow smoke in your direction.

You are living in the world of wag the dog.
The smokers in the world are not the ones that create the problems--they are the ones blamed for problems..You will get your baby way sicker by driving with your windows down, or walking on a city street. There are more issues at stake than second hand smoke. Fossil fuels are the real problem---your fire place, your BBQ, your Tiki torches on the patio, aircraft and the list goes on. Don't blame the smoker.

Some smokers give other smokers a bad name, but not all smokers are selfish. Some like to enjoy their habit quietly and in private without harming others. But maybe smokers should do more to speak out against those that are inconsiderate, such as those smokers who thow their empty cig packets all over the place, their stubs on the floor and into unrinals instead of trays provided. Some one has to pick them up.

You shouldn't generalise, I never used to smoke around children or pregnant women. If ever I was at someones house and they didn't smoke I would go outside and i would always ask the people behind me in a restaurant if they minded if I smoked, even though I wasn't in a no smoking area.

I have given up smoking now as I am pregnant, and I do not expect people to smoke around me. Smokers are not bad people, and I'm tired of people who treat them as such. Drinking is just as bad for your health but just because you can't breathe it in, it's classed as socially acceptable.

That is rather a sharpe generalisation. I smoke, I enjoy smoking and will continue for aslong as I feel happy doing so. MY Choice! I do not inflict my smokeing on to other people, I wouldnt smoke around a baby, I consider other peoples feelings, and there rights, just the same way that I expect you to consider my feelings and rights! Ok so clearly you dont agree with smoking fine, but that is your opionion. As for being selfish far from it, I crash you a *** any time you like??

Some of us aren't selfish. I smoke outside my own house and anyone else's who is a non-smoker. In smoking friends houses even though I can sometimes smoke indoors if there are children around I will still go outside. We're not all barstewards.

Stereotype. Not ALL smokers are inconsiderate.

And chances are, you're the one who's walking by someone who's smoking, and therefore, they were there first. It's one thing if a smoker walks up, and is standing one foot away from you, and lights up. But it's completely different if they're standing there, smoking, and you decide you want to sit on the bench they're standing by.

I fully agree, I don't understand why people still smoke when it's so blatently bad for them and the rest of us. I have never smoked despite my dad doing so and do not visit pubs because of the smokers.

Do you drive a car?

Why are car drivers so selfish? Why don't they care who is breathing in their exhaust fumes e.g. babies?

I hope this answers your question.
