Hi I have a 5 year old boy who suffers with cough variant asthma in the winter months, his medication consists of a singular tablet daily and seredite preventive inhaler and ventilion inhaler. He is symptom free during the summer months but throughout the winter months suffers a lot, requiring prednisole steroids on average six times between september and may. I have tried acupunture for the past year but no major improvement. At present i am doing a course of reflexology to see if it makes any improvement. Has anyone tried it with success, or any other alternative that is useful

My grandson had a similar problem when younger and his problem was caused by drinking milk. Does he enjoy warm milk drinks in the winter? With my grandson, the warmed milk was the problem. He stayed off the milk and other dairy products from the age of 2 until 6 and then he became more tolerant and less likely to have breathing problems from the dairy.

Have you had the heating ducts cleaned? During the winter, some have increased asthma symptoms because of dusty and moldy heating ducts blowing it all over the house when the heat is on. Just an idea.
