Yes, that is one of the many possible symptoms of recently quitting smoking, coughing, itchy throut, etc. These will go away, but the time varies from person to person. Try sucking on some some of those halls flavored lozenges, the ones that have vitimin C in them, drink lots of orange juice. It will take time to start feeling better, the physical addiction leaves farily quickly, but it takes time for the body to heal. Congrats on quitting, and stick with it! It is worth it in the long run

If you were an addicted smoker, withdrawal symptoms are really weird. My dad lost his voice for six whole months. Another case, if my friend coughed and put a white hankie to his mouth, it would be black, this went on and off for a year.
Another friend who was a quiet type used to loose her temper at the drop of a fork.
I put on a little weight but it drove me to take up a sport. Leaner and more active now, I'd never ever smoke again

you stopped smoking, good decision taken adhere to it. Do not get provoked later. If one stops any long term habits, some uncomfortable experience has to face. it is called as "withdrawal symptoms". it is common, to all after quitting a habit like smoking , drinking, drug addiction etc.,In your case, if the sore is unbearable, keep a lozenges which contain Menthol. Do not chew it, swallow the juice produces in mouth. You feel fine in another 1-2 weeks.

First of all, congratulations. Second of all, Keep up the good work. Well, I dont know how long you were a smoker, I assume from the withdraw side-effects, you smoked for a considerable amount of time. It will get better, its your body telling u to get another cigarrette. Dont worry. If It gets worse, see your doctor. Again, congrats!

no, it doesn't have anything to do with it...it's just an unlucky coincidence. usually you only get fat when you quit smoking. anyway, you should consider yourself a lucky person ;)
