I might have asthma and I am planning on joining the Marines. I was just wondering if you can cure it with some kind of medication that will destroy at least 99.9% of it? If so, what kind of medicine is it called and where can I get it from?

If you think that you 'might have' asthma, then first of all, you should confirm that. Please, mind it that respiratory problems do not necessarily mean asthma. For various problems of blood (example: anemia for any reason, thalassaemia, etc.) and heart problems (example, Fallot's tetralogy, Left to Right shunts, Cardiac Failure, etc.) one may experience respiratory problems that could be felt as asthma although it is not that. So, first of all, get the proper diagnosis first.

However, you know, asthma is an allergic disease and never 100% curable but 99.99% controllable by 'continuous use' of prescribed medication(s) and 'continuous cautions' against the known/ unknown allergens that may 'increase' the asthmatic symptoms and sufferings.

Anyway, if you plan to join the Marines and you are really asthmatic then I don't think that you should take drive for that venture. Take care and be fine.

I've had asthma since i was a baby and I'm twenty years old now. Doctors can try many medications for it. I have not heard of a "cure" yet but there is a shot you can get that has a 50/50 chance of "curing" it but its not a 100% chance so dont base it on that... you can grow out of asthma as well and also if you have gained weight or feel you are overweight it helps majorly to get that off. A treatment that also worked well for my sister is advair (although she still has asthma hers has calmed down a lot) ..and most doctors will tell you where you live has a lot to do with your asthma/allergies..hope this helps

My brother is an asthmatic and after ten years his asthma has shown no sign of improving. He has been to several doctors but they didn't help much.

If you want a proven, all-natural way to cure your asthma, without having to pay for useless medications with harmful side-effects, then this is the most important page you'll ever read.

No asthma can not be cured only controlled. My 4 year old uses a wonderful little drug called pulmicort in his nebulizer two times a day and has not had a single attack since he started it 2 years ago,Its very costly though and is not covered by most insurances for that very reason. We pay $365.00 per month for 60 vials!

I have asthma. It is not curable yet, but its controllable. I've learned many breathing techniques and other ways of controlling my asthma as a supplement to my daily medication. I try real hard not to use the medication, but sometimes I still get in trouble and need my emergency inhaler-Albuterol.

There are many types of asthma. Some can benefit from yoga, depending on the type of yoga (ashtanga yoga for example, may excaserbate excercise induced yoga) On the whole though, yoga is good for stress managment, and most forms of asthma benefit from that.

It is 100% curable! Medicine? You have already lost this battle! Where can you get it from? You mean a quick fix? No where. You are approaching this already the wrong way, like everyone else. The good old fashioned american way! Has never worked for anything! Good luck

There is not a cure for it, but there are ways to control it. You need to get tested for asthma and go from there.
