I smoked marijuana, and soon my heart was pounding very hard and fast. My blood pressure was 162/147. I almost called 911 and thought I would die. I had smoked many times before, and nothing like this had ever happened. Needless to say, i won't be smoking pot anymore. But can anyone tell me what happened here?

Pot can induce anxiety. You likely had an anxiety attack. Sort of gives you a special appreciation for what folks with anxiety disorders go through though huh?? Uhh, lucky nothing worse happened to ya. Sounds like your blood pressure was pretty high!! Great decision to stay away from it!!

Kind of sounds like a sign from God telling you what can happen if you continue to smoke pot. I am glad that you made the decisiong not to smoke pot anymore but it is bad that it took you that to realize what happens to you when you do.

Probably an allergic reaction, you never know what else is in that stuff, one of the reasons it's illegal is because it could kill you. It shorts your brain's electrical connections as well, who knows what kind of temporary damage might've happened, it doesn't just affect your conscious self but it messes with your instinctive parts and the section that controls your heartbeat, all of that can get really messed up and yes you really could die (even if it is kinda rare).

Glad to see you believe it now, I had to learn this the hard way, too.
