I'll be 18 this June and I am experiencing pains on my chest around my heart. I was working out in my cartio class at school and my friend had pushed me. I had banged up my knees and after 5 minutes or so my chest has been in pain. The pain appears to be getting worse but at the moment it is still barable. I have to keep my body in a certain position to ease some of the pain. If I lay down I have to be on my back and if I try to get up it starts to hurt really bad. Im not exactly sure what it is but I think I could have bruised some muscle tissue around my heart. I would like some opinions before I tell anyone or go to the hospital.

Your friend may have knocked a little wind out of you trapping a bit in some of your lung tissue. This pain is very sharp, usually localized in one area, and it seems to help if you press firmly on the location. If you move, you put pressure on the trapped air, hence the pain. You have to try to fill your lungs up completely...it will hurt, each inhalation breath more deeply. If the pain does not subside, seek medical attention...but you are far too young for a heart attack which usually involves pain in the left arm, tingling in the neck, and an irregular heartbeat. If your heart is beating rhythmically, try not to worry.

Hi there.

If you are able to ask this question here, then I think probably not. Sounds more like you have a muscle pulled, maybe even cracked a rib. Alternatively, you may have had some gastric juice pushed out of the top of the stomack, which can feel like a heart attack.

However if you are in any doubt, CALL A DOCTOR NOW.

Anything is possible, but you would probably not be writing on your computer if in fact you were having a heart attack. Classic symptoms in males are sweating, pain in the chest, jaw, left arm, nausea, dizziness, confusion, unconsciousness, death.....but any lasting pain in the chest should be checked out.....

Are you pushing yourself to the absolute limit? Does putting your hands on your head help? It means your muscles are being used and are not happy about it

Do you experiance tingling sensation down your left side? are you going numb any where? Are you having trouble seeing? If yes then it could be something to do with your heart and you should go to the ER.

Sometimes I have chest pains and I think I am to young to have chest pains. I hope I am not having a heart attack! Sorry but I do not know if we are having heart attacks or not.

It sopunds to me like you might have some cracked ribs.
WHY YOU WOULD BE ASKING a question like that when you are into physical fittness is beyond me.
..Your heart may be broken but not bruised. If it was bruised you would be in serious trouble.
MY BET IS ITS THE RIBS

It sounds like you may have injured or fractured a rib or tore muscles as you say.If it persists, then seek medical help.

My suspicion is more that you merely injured your chest in the fall, but you should DEFINITELY get this checked out.
