This a weird question, but the doctor told me I have a heart murmur. Never had any problems with it, but the one thing I will say is that when I get nervous, like when I'm going to sing in public my heart starts beating like I honestly don't think is normal and I can hardly breathe through the song. Is it in anyway related do you think or is that just a normal anxiety problem? Any advice on controlling it. Thinking hypnotist now.

No, a murmur just means that there is an extra whooshing sound when the doctor listens to your heart. This is usually just from a little blood squirting back through a valve or from high flow through a normal valve. Systolic murmurs are present in up to 60 percent of patients, with 90 percent being associated with a normal echocardiogram... these are innocent midsystolic murmurs that will not cause any long-term problems. You doctor should be able to tell whether a murmur is concerning or not by listening to it. If ther eis any concern, he can get an echocardiogram to make sure all your valves are working ok. In a minority of patients, an echo may show a leaky valve, a stiff valve or a hole in the heart.

It is extremely unlikely that the murmur, normal OR ABNORMAL, would have anything to do with your heart beating fast when you sing in public. It is likely just normal performance anxiety that some people get more than others. Some people actually take prescription medications (a beta-blocker such as propranolol) before speaking or performing in public, and this can be VERY effective at controlling symptoms such as shaking knees, racing heart beat and tremors. It is a well-tolerated medicine, and you might consider asking your doctor about it if your anxiety during public performances is problematic.

A a million out of 5 isn't a severe murmur in any respect, and may basically be a really worried cat! i have had a pair of foster cats with heart murmurs, and any that could nicely be decrease than 3 out of 5 in undemanding words calls for monitoring. A worried cat will make some effortless heart sounds, and they are oftentimes in undemanding words some thing that the vet will exhibit screen - oftentimes recommending yet another visit in 6 months, no longer prompt heart specialist therapy at tremendous cost. i'd be searching for yet another vet, in my view.

Here is the webmd article on heart murmurs. I doubt that the public singing anxiety has anything to do with the murmur.

This is just general info that you might want to check out.

It's just a mild fluctuation of one of your heart valves which causes the heart beating cycle to be off cycle sometime. Many people have them and don't no it. In most cases they are not something to worry about they are pretty normal for people to have.
