Common signs of a heart attack are pressure on the chest, shortness of breath, nausea, vomiting, palpitaions, left arm & jaw pain, excessive sweating and cold, clammy skin. These symptoms will occur suddenly and will not be persistant.
The symptoms you are experiencing can be related to indigestion, gastric reflux, stress and/or depression.
Go back to your doctor -or find a new one. Describe your symptoms & insist that you be thoroughly checked out to discover exactly what it wrong.
It will not only give you an answer, but peace of mind.

Did you have a full cardio work up. I went thru this not to long ago. It could be the neuropathy assoc with diabetes. However, I still have the problem and we have come to the conclusion it is the way i sit at the computer and read things. I lean to one side, head on hand, hunched over. When I stand up my chest hurts and my arm is numb. Hopefully for you this is nothing but a positional/postural thing.

I've heard that unless it's a treadmill with nuclear testing, it's not that accurate for predicting heart problems. Unless it's bad enough to be picked up on regular stress tests. Enzymes that are done in the ER only say what is happening that moment, or what hasn't happened. It's not a good predictor of what could happen. Basically, it sounds like you need to see a cardiologist to make sure. Specially being diabetic, such higher risk factor for heart trouble. You could always go to another ER, or make sure your doc refers you to a cardiologist if you haven't seen one yet. If the cardiologist cleared you, you could ask for another cardiologist opinion. They are usually pretty darn careful, and usually err on the side of caution.

you may have nothing more than gastric reflux i.e indegestion it can give quite alarming pains and sensations in and around the chest area also a build up of gasses due to medication one of which metaformin given for type 2 diabeties can cause stomach and other gastric upsets trust in the modern equipement your doctors have used if your heart was suspect they would know it

You should get a second opinion! Those sound like signs of a heart attack.

if the pain and numbnes was in the left arm it might be something to worry about. It is probably stress, or heartburn
