He's on meds for hi cholesterol and hi blood pressure, 69 yr. old, white. He's in great shape, but I need him around for another 30 yrs. Should he take a stress test at a certain age even if his doctor doesn't bring it up?

Everyone wants a loved one to be around forever. Living to be over 100 is rare, and death is a part of life. There are symptoms other than high blood pressure and high cholesterol that would warrant bypass surgery. My friend who is 49 had a heart attack and needed immediate bypass surgery or he would have died. Afterwards the doctor told him it is best to have his affairs in order. A bypass is not a cure all and there is no guarantee, as there is no guarantee in life in general. Enjoy your loved one while you have him, you never know, you could go first.
