If someone wit HIV gets a cold does it heal?

Jus curious. 17 year old Junior in high school trying to keep track of stds b4 I decide to become sexually active.

EXTREMLY Difficult to get better from a common cold. Sometimes, cases of death result from a simple infection of a cut or scrape. Imagine what could happen if you get a cut?

Pretty much HIV/AIDS disables all the cells that can fight off an infection in an otherwise normal person.

Colds don't heal. They just go away. And no, once you are HIV positive it is very difficult to get rid of a cold, an infection from a paper cut (for example), etc., simply because your body's immune system is so taxed by the HIV. If you want to become sexually active, just make sure that you're safe each time. Use condoms, and don't let anyone talk you out of them for any reason.

Of course it does. HIV only means that your immune system is constantly at work; it never gets a day off! So when confronted with another bug to fight off, it simply means that it has to work even that much harder to fight it off. As the disease progresses and the immune system becomes more compromised (as indicated by the cd4 count) then any infection becomes harder to rid the body of and other infections, very commonly acquired and dealt with in a healthy immune system, can be potentially fatal for the severly compromised.

I am 38 and have had HIV for 5 yrs.You do heal from colds it just takes a little longer than a healthy person.We also get colds more often.My best advice to you is always make him use a condom.EVERY single time.Good luck and remember BE SAFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it depends. HIV knocks out your T4 cells which make up your immune system (lymph nodes) any infection can reduce these further. When the T4 cells are reduced to a certain amount you are then classed as having AIDS
