statistically yes.....men more often suffer from high blood pressure than women, however, there are many arguments as to why this is so.
As for physiologically, an elevated pressure in either gender is not good.
The latest I've read about this in JAMA is no, gender doesn't affect blood pressure, but the cultural and social differences that occur between the genders does.

age and gender does affect blood pressure in the sense that it would be considered a risk factor. One that you can't modify or change.
The ones you can change such as lifestyle, nutrition, etc, are more worth considering.
