carbon monoxide toxicity is characterized by a reddish complexion. when very severe the face is cherry red. sneezing and stuffy nose sound more like allegery. carbon monoxide comes from incomplete combustion of fuels of any kind but living in a small apartment using gas, propane, butane, or any such LP fuels, and/or charcol briquets can be dangerous if those fuels are not properly vented. burning charcol in close quaters is known to have caused quite a few deaths among poor persons seeking inexpensive heating fuel.

That's not related to carbon monoxide, that's just the dry air. You need to add humidity at bedside to aleviate your symptoms.

Carbon monoxide has no smell, It's a good idea to have a carbon monoxide detector if that's a concern to you. Carbon monoxide kills by binding to the oxygen sites on your red blood cells, you will appear normal, pink & rosey, and on noninvasive exam you will appear normal on a pulse oximeter. However, your carboxyhemiglobin levels will be up...detected by arterial blood gas. Physical symptoms will be sleep...as your oxygen decreases you tire and sleep...and unless treated you just die. Wierd Al Yankovich's parents died in thier sleep because of a closed chimney flue over a smouldering fire in the fireplace. Very sad! A cheap detector would have saved them.
