if u burn animals or birds, they feel it.if u give them electric shock, they feel it.Other animals and birds feel pain in the same way and to the same degree that we humans do. everybody knows this thing, although people eat non-veg food. Are they doing their responsibility and duties in right way ?

Personally, I like meat.

I've heard people say about vegetarians (although I don't agree with this) that "if you love animals so much, why are you eating all their food"

everyone is entitled to eat what they want...this topic is almost as controversial as the ones you'll find in the religion category.

I'm sorry, but I don't think you'll find a definitive answer here.

You can't convince me that you would feel pain in the same way that I do, so how you can postulate that animals and birds feel it in the same way and to the same degree I just don't know. I guess we could come back to the old argument that the vast majority of domesticated birds (poultry) and animals would have no life at all if they were not ultimately part of the human food chain and if their dispatch can be painless & without suffering then where is the problem.

Yes we are exploiting these life forms but isn't that how the human race got where it is - should we not condone guide dogs for the blind or ride horses?

People are often not wise in making good decisions! People often feel threatened or irked if their way of eating is criticized! People don't realize we are suppose to be protectors of animals! To eat animals that's not wise! If we are to eat animals then maybe God created us for his food! Meat eaters are dead in the mind cause they eat Death. U are What U eat! Meat eaters are unwise! U can not teach those unwilling to learn of responsibility! We just have to tolerate the foolishness of meat eaters! They think we vegetarians and vegans are wrong cause they are unaware of the truth! They don't want to know the truth! Even the bible says It is not given for all people to know all things! If thou keepth thyself clean not partake of any dead thing thou mayest be place amongst the angels and sit at the right hand of the Lord! A far better position than those that are merely saved by grace! Revelations!

Hi I am a vegan, have been for a year now but was actually brought up a vegetarian so have never tasted meat or fish, I am basically replying to some of the people who have answered your question firstly VMSS-rabbit food-how old r u??? we don't eat rabbit food well I don't I have a well balanced diet n it certainly don't taste like rabbit food it's childish of u to answer that way, secondly who is everyone to say the animals r there for us too feed off just because the 'bible' says so??? does that make it right-no, if they are there for us to feed off and people call us 'animals' at the end of the day then who is here to feed off us??? And for MSMINNAMOUSE-check out r teeth??? what type of answer is that-check out the animals who don't eat meat either, they have all the teeth of a carnivore but still they choose to eat plant based food so therefore your answer has no relevance to this question. People say it's how we have ate for so many centuries-just because of that does it still make it right???society has made it normal but it doesn't mean it is right! And ELFAEDA-don't start with the protein rubbish-there is enough protein for the body to survive off in 'plant based' foods believe me I have been a veggie all my life and I am probably fitter and healthier than most of u people on here, I weight train etc and guess what without putting 'meat protein' in my body-how shocking is that-not very because you don't need meat protein i am living proof you don't, my dad bodybuilded naturally and guess what he been a vegan for 36years-so that is total rubbish i am fed up of people answering questions like this when they don't read all the facts, really you don't need animal protein in your body there is far better protein and more healthier protein in 'plant based food' with the meat comes cholestorol etc and how old r u??? plants feel pain-they don't have a nervous system like ours-it has been proven ok, that is a very childish answer don't you think! I am not a person who tries to preach on people they should go veggie or vegan you eat what you want to eat, don't get me wrong i would prefer the world to go vegan but i am not stupid that will never happen but if asked about vegan I will give my views, and it gets on my nerves when people who answer angrily or cocky towards vegans/veggies saying 'give it a rest' but yet you come on here to c what vegans/veggies r saying so in a way u want an argument, and esp.when meat eater ask cocky question as if we r stupid-it's really silly!

Non-veg is used as a substitute for vegetarian food.India has a very large population and feeding such a population is a major problem that's why meat is eaten. On the other hand meat has formed a daily necessity for some people.

I'm vegetarian but believe people should eat what they want. However, I would love to be able to challenge all meat eaters to use their teeth to kill an animal then skin it and eat it raw! Veg and fruit can be eaten raw, why not meat? What's that you say? It might poison you if you eat it raw? Surely that's how meat should be eaten? No?
Yes I'm being silly. But it's not a bad point though is it?

I suppose that people choose to eat that food because they want to, and hey, it is a free world.

That said, I've been a vegetarian for 23 years and if I were world dictator for life, there would be no meat eating!

Uhhh, no not true. The veges you take for granted have been developed over many years. Early corn was maize...very starchy, bland food stuff. Wild squash had to be domesticated and cross bred to give you what is palatable now. Apples, would be still crabby.
And many of the veges now grown here come from other parts of the world.

Next, (and this applies to both creationists and Darwinists -did you not notice that after man came into being the next thing was fire(not refrigeration). So what do you vegans eat during the months there is no growing?
Humans ate a variety of foodstuffs to keep going, bug and ants is just finger food and you need alot of fingers worth to get a gut full.
So anything larger was a bonus. "Hey they could "feed the kids" instead of "feed on the kids".

So by the same token why does nature provide such a variety of living items that also can be eaten?

No refrigeration necessary if left alive.

In Thailand human is (Khon) that's mean mix together between alot of animal. If you see dangerous animal they eat meat of other but gentle animal they eat grass.
That mean the answer if you would like to be dangerous or not you has brain and chance to choose food that you eat.

Select by your self God will look and give mark to you.

I assume you also don't eat eggs, dairy products, wear leather shoes, use any products tested on animals etc.

The conditions animals are kept in to produce non-meat products like those mentioned above are far more horriffic than the conditions they're kept in to produce meat. I think it's more important that people think about the treatment of animals in general that get on their high horses about not eating meat
