You mean injection, not vaccine.
There are several injectable medicines for Tyoe 2 diabetics on the market today. Offhand, I can think of Byetta, which is very effective in controlling sugar levels.

Just make sure that she eats right and exercises and stays away from sugar. My wife has been a diabetic since 1999 and on insulin for about 3 years. And I have a nephew that has been on insulin for 30 years. Just make sure that she test often and keep track in a spiral note book of how she is doing. Don't let her sugar get to low. It should be between 70 and 140. A good thing to keep around the house is a tube of birthday cake icing in case her sugar get to low. The way to tell if it get to low is she will start to sweet and and act kind of funny like she is out of it. Don't panic, just check her sugar. That is something you need to learn to do. Nothing to it. You need to worry more when it is low than when it is high.I have seen my wife's when it was 24 and I have seen it at 500.

its insulin. No matter what type 1 or type 2 all diabetics will be put on insulin. Insulin will bring her sugars down. it is very important to make sure she maintains a healthy diet while on insulin. There is a lot of new cook books and monthly cook books put out for diabetics. usually at grocery stores or walmart. invest in them. also i got my dad some diabetic handbooks off of amazon.com they have helped him a lot. just go to amazon and type in diabetic and youll get a lot of good stuff.

Sorry to here that, but don't worry, my dad has been taking insulin shot for many years and his diet most of the time has been the sea food diet, you know the one "eat's anything he sees, ice cream, cake, lots of things he shouldn't, and he has had it many years.
He is overweight and he is 77 years old now, he has been blessed.
I understand how you feel, both my mom and dad are still alive, I don't know what I am going to do without them, should they go first. But at the same time I need to go on and take care of myself, that is probably why I am sitting up here doing yahoo answers.
I am serious, I understand you, but we have to go on. But in the meantime, it sounds like you mom is younger than my dad and his eating habits have been awful and he has lasted.
Guess we better enjoy the time we have now. Hang in there.

Read the book "pH miracle for Diabetes". This book is used by my friend who took up acid-alkaline diet to control his sugar successfully. He just love to eat sweet things.
