I'm sorry to hear that your friend is sufferring so terribly. Has he received a medical assessment? There are many bronchodilators that are very effective for COPD patients, and are available with prescription -- if your friend is not currently taking these, I would recommend that he try and limit his smoking as much as possible and use the bronchodilators to prevent the symptomatic complications.

If your friend smokes then he must stop smoking immediately as smoking worsens the inflammabtion of the air-passage. Sometime ago I read in an Australian newspaper report that some copd sufferers found relief in a herbal supplement made in Australia called Asmago. I believe this is available online.

is he under the care of a lung specialist??
Maybe one of them can help.

I pray he can. My father had severe COPD,
could barely walk, and a lung specialist was able to help him a little. Not much, but it did make a difference

Check yellow pages under pulmonary medicine. Good luck

Get your friend to see a different pulmonary specialist- there are a lot of new medications that can help him.....and if he lives where the climate is very humid, he should consider moving to cooler less humid area....I hope you can help me............good luck.
