my pre-albuterol lung capacity was 540 not sure of the decimal place, i think it was 5.40

and my post albuterol lung capacity 580... 5.80?

is this enough to warrant medication with inhaled steroids... I know that its the gold standard, but i have uncommon side effects... like they make psychologically insane.

There has to be at least a 10% change to warrant any medication post Albuterol. Albuterol is a bronchodialtor however, so it is good that you do not have to put up with nebulizers. I would talk it over with the doc and I am sure he will come up with another plan.

If they have psychological side effects, talk to your doctor and explain it to him. There are other ways to treat asthma, and your doctor will be more than willing to help you find them, without making you go "insane" =)
