Is there a question?
Hawaii is the only US state to lie within the tropics, however the word tropical can also be use to described areas outside the tropical zone with a similair climate.
Could Florida be considered to have a tropical climate? Techincally no, it is a humid sub-tropic climate.
How many people claim that Flordia is in the tropics? Besides, your not question, I've never heard one.
People will use the term loosely or in analogy. However, most people KNOW it is an analogy.

is this a question?? well i have been to miami and i have been to a tropical island. Miami really isnt tropical, its residents try to make it by adopting tropical, care free life styles. it is certainly better then the uptight lifestyle adopted by the town i live in. Miami rocks.

Actually, "tropical" means:
pertaining to, characteristic of, occurring in, or inhabiting the tropics, esp. the humid tropics
or
very hot and humid
So while it's not technically in the tropics, it is indeed tropical.
