I don't know the difference between the two so information about either one would be nice. Are they sweet or salty? How are they made? Nutrition facts...? Recipes?

Rava Adai (Spicy Semolina Pancakes)

Preparation Time : 5 minutes
Cooking Time : 5 minutes
Serves / Makes : 4

Ingredients:

1 cup of semolina
1/2 cup grated carrots
2-3 fresh thai green chilies
1/2 fresh cilantro leaves
1/2" piece of ginger
1/2 cup good quality yogurt
salt (to taste)
water as needed

Method:

Grind the cilantro leaves, green chilies and ginger together to make a paste. Combine the paste with the carrots and add the semolina.

Add salt and the yogurt. Mix well to combine and add water as needed to make a thin batter (crepe batter consisitency). Heat a non stick frying pan on medium heat, spread the batter like you are making pancakes. Serve with a variety of chutneys & pickles.

Rava Vada (Fried Semolina Patties)

Ingredients:

1 cup rava (semolina)
2 medium onions, finely chopped
4 small thai green chilies, finely minced
1 bunch fresh cilantro leaves, finely chopped
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp turmeric
1/2 tsp coriander powder
salt to taste
water, as needed
veg or canola oil (for frying)

Method:

Mix togther the semolina, green chilies, cilantro leaves, onions, spices and salt. Add enough water to combine and form small disc shaped patties.

Heat oil in deep wok, and fry until golden brown on all sides. Drain well and serve with a variety of chutneys and sauces.
