144/85 is an early sign that you may have to change now or expect problems later, such as having to be on blood pressure meds , many with bad side effects or increased chance for heart attack, stroke and kidney failure. The standard by the American Heart Association classifies you at borderline early hypertension, the old standard of 120/80 as normal has been changed and now a healthy blood pressure should be below 120/80. Check your blood pressure daily and average out what it is running. Give this info to your doctor. This along with a dull chest pain could mean a vessel blockage. If the chest pain gets worse go to your ER at once. To keep Bp down, Do not smoke, avoid sodium and fats, exercise daily for at least 20 minutes. Good luck and let me know if I can help in any way.

You must have the 44/85 backwards. I work in a cardiac cath lab and if a patient's blood pressure gets below 70, invasive measures are taken to keep that person alive.

85 is still low to be a systolic blood pressure. How fast is your heart rate? When blood pressure gets low, heart rate increases to try to get enough oxygen to the entire body. Are you experiencing dizziness and shortness of breath too?

I was wondering about the original 44 !!
144/85 is a hypertension thing.. you might end up on blood pressure meds once a day. You should be okay.. just exercise and eat right.. the usual stuff they tell you to do.

Ask a doctor, but your blood pressure doesn't sound too far off track.

You are borderline hypertensive. Keep checking your BP regularly.

You can go to a clinic or even a firestation.

That's borderline high & yes you do have to watch it. Stay away from salt & keep stress down (if you can).
