I have a german shepherd white puppy, she is 6 and a half months old, she has gone off her food, she is very sleepy, very playful still, and both of my male dogs are starting to show interest in her back end, i am a little concerned as the vet has told me that i have to wait to have her neutered, as she is still very young, please i have never had a *****, and i have two males both unneutered, i am not irresponsible i do not want my dogs neutered, but i do intend to have my ***** neutered, so please i dont need advice on that, i just want to know how to tell the signs of her first season,

What you describe is not typical of a b1tch coming into season. Signs are: increased urination (Marking the spot rather than real peeing), change in behaviour (less obedient, more likely to fight) & swelling of the vulva (this doesn't happen until a few days before). When she does come into season, you might be safer putting her in kennels for 10 days unless you are 100% certain that your 2 males cannot get to her. 3 months after her 1st season, you will be able to have her spayed - well done on not having your baby puppy spayed!

If you have two entire males then you really are going to have problems keeping them away from your b1tch, I too congratulate you on waiting before spaying, I always let my GSD's have 1 season first, but you have to wait 3 months before getting her spayed, I have a white GSD b1tch who has finished her first season, a few days beforehand she too went off her food, so don't be too concerned unless it goes on for a long time, ie. more than 3 days, remember there is a big hormonal change going on and it is bound to upset their systems, a friends dog vomits a few times in the first couple of days, but that is natural for her, When her vulva begins to swell and she starts to bleed you will know that she is definitely in season. I wish you luck keeping your dogs away, it might be an idea to put your b1tch in kennels for the duration of her season, you can always go to the kennels each day to visit and to walk her.

The going off her food and being more sleepy isn't part of being in season. have a look at her vulva, if it is starting to look swollen then she will be coming into season soon. i would seperate her from the males if she is swollen as the boys will not want to leave her alone. as soon as you notice blood from her count 10 weeks and then she should be neutered.
as for the not eating i would keep an eye on her and if concerned would take her too the vets as have never known a dog to go off her food when they are in season

finding on the breed they're going to ahve a reddish discharge- yet no longer all bitches do- in the event that they seem to be a small breed you dont get any droplets of blood. additionally, the vagina swells and could become very great- this might look alarming- yet is the 1st sign they approximately to return into season. they gained't come into season till they seem to be some 12 months old- and this is many times each and every six months.

Sound like she could be getting close but could be a few months yet.
Signs are all there. She may start "nesting" (bunching up her bed etc), more destructive, gaining weight, musty smell, and of course blood spotting
Good luck

Take her out for a walk. If, within fifteen minutes, you are being followed by a pack of dogs, believe me - she's in season.
