If you eat healthy & are vegetarian...how over weight are you?......if you only need to shed a few pounds, then i'd say to eat what you want, but in moderation. Everything is bad for you nowadays, so bugger it!...eat what ya want, but not too much!..if you enjoy it, then eat it, but don't over do it!

Obviously fruits & vegetables (altho' they're not very filling) I'd put chopped carrots (any vegetables I like, eg broccolli) in the fridge (I sprinkle with lemon juice & a little salt & pepper) that way when I want to snack I don't then reach for the first thing that I find. Also you can use humus as a dip altho' I don't know how fattening it is. (otherwise u could use cottage cheese).
I find chopping fruit before u eat them is more satisfying (on their own or mixed as a friut salad.
Also, nuts/raisins give you energy & fill u up. you could put raisins in the freezer & they taste more chewy when u eat them after.
another thing that's not fattening & is very filling is porridge or muesli (the ones from health shops) that don't contain all the additives etc. eat with skimmed milk or soya milk.
The thing with dieting as with anything is if u concentrate too much on it it won't work, u have to let go & go with the flow.

Try to snack on non-acidic food. According to the acid-alkaline diets, fats arise from acid. "Fatty-acid". Sugar are also acidic.
Look at this site for alkaline food.

Plain unsalted popcorn, corn, whole grain chips, fruit salads (without the dairies, you can just try syrup for a little added sweetness or just plain fruit salad), green salads...

celery - it uses more calories to eat it than it gives you, always providing you eat it with no dressing.
