Im trying to import a video on windows movie maker. I've tried importing MOV. and AVI. files and it won't accept them....what does it accept ???

.wmv will surely work on on Windows Movie Maker i always work with this file type. i think .avi will also work you just need the right codec as far as i can remember i use this type of file before.

Try to use mpg. Ihave used it myself, i have also used avi before and it worked for me. I am a beginner with windows video maker but i've made a couple and they work fine.

You are not doing it properly. It accept almost all format. But when saved extension is .mov but you will not be able to play without movie maker. You will not be able to copy it. Why don't you use win dvd creator v3, this will serve all your purpose. You can download it from www.softarchive.net

Audio files: .aif, .aifc, .aiff .asf, .au, .mp2, .mp3, .mpa, .snd, .wav, and .wma

Picture files: .bmp, .dib, .emf, .gif, .jfif, .jpe, .jpeg, .jpg, .png, .tif, .tiff, and .wmf

Video files: .asf, .avi, .m1v, .mp2, .mp2v, .mpe, .mpeg, .mpg, .mpv2, .wm, and .wmv
