What does elocution, the art of public speaking, have to do with boys learning to cook? If you're presenting make a speech on why boys should learn to cook. How about this: Boys should learn to cook so they can eat. If a man is a bachelor and doesn't live in mom's basement, it's either cook, go out or starve. Going out is expensive. Who wants to eat just junk food or nothing? Cooking is a survival skill. Xanavi is assuming there is a woman who will have a helpless man.

Cooking is a life skill. Sure, the boys "could" refuse to learn to cook and spend the rest of their days relying on McDonald's or some other restaurant if they aren't lucky enough to have someone in their family cook.
And it's a sad fact that fewer people marry today, so I think lifelong bachelors will not be uncommon.
But another life skill is driving a car. And, like the cooking, if they refuse to learn they could spend the rest of their days relying on riding a bus or taking a taxi. But why would someone do that outside of a place like NY?
It seems to me that a sensible and mature man is going to be self-sufficient.

Absolutely! Yes!!!
I somehow got interested in cooking when I was a boy.
It's really hard to identify a time when I didn't use my knowledge to cook. Even when I was in the army I used my knowledge of changing the way stuff was prepared to make it more appetizing. For instance, while in the army I started carrying containers of dried onions, hot sauce.,etc., in my back pack to liven up 'c' rations. Then the ladies love it when I would whip up an omolete in the kitchen when I was single.
And I found the ladies love to have someone cook for them as long as you don't it make a big deal.

Why shouldn't they? Most (not all) of the world's best chef's are MEN. There is not a sexual or role bias against men cooking. My father always did the barbecue...its manly right? Its no different than teaching your kids chemistry. You learn weights and measures, and how things react or work together.
Why does bread rise? The same thing that puts the carbonation in home brew beer...yeast.
No I think that as far as cooking, there is no negative image. There are only benefits with knowing how to cook.

Yes, because:
1. When they're grown up, they might want to impress a woman by cooking something romantic for her;
2. Or they might grow up to be famous chefs;
3. Or they might want to entertain their friends;
4. Or they might want to eat good food without spending all the money it costs to eat in restaurants all the time. A good cook can eat tasty food without spending so much money;
5. And they might want to cook tasty food that's not as fattening as food in a restaurant. When you grow up you have to worry more about gaining weight, unfortunately.
6. Also, if you want to be able to be independent, being able to cook well is a good thing. People who can't cook become more depressed if they're alone. This matters, if you want to do something like study abroad one day. It's important to be able to take care of yourself independently.

Everybody should but the fast food restaurants are not going to like this. There biggest money maker is on single guys that's don't know how to cook. Unfortunately though all I know is how to operate a microwave or cook spaghetti. Yep it is embarrassing

The answer must be yes. What if all women are working and boys are left home? What if you dont have any cook at home?What is women are sick?What if a boy will live alone without his mother, sister , or wife? Buying food in a restaurant or fastfood is not practical. Thats what they usually do. Cooking must be done at home by anyone to gain budget and health assurance.

YES!!! Boys become men and men need to be able to take care of themselves. It's their nature. Cooking can benefit in many many ways and should be learned by all.
