Well, since you sound like you have such a lovely family, I decided to check out your story. You forgot to add that your son, Kyle Wayne Grider, is a check-forger, burglar, meth user, and statutory rapist. You also deserve a big thumbs up for your role, since you were apparently uncooperative with Police when they were searching for your son. I guess the a.sshole doesn't fall far from the tree. Whoops, I mean apple.
Your son will rot in jail, and you can rot in hell for getting on here and complaining about a random civilian who was caught up in your son's crime. I hope that someday you meet Sgt. Jonathan Dragus's family in a dark alley so they can get their own revenge.

Your son murdered the policeman even though it wasn't premeditated it was an occurrence of events that caused the policeman's death. Your son was at fault here, not the truck driver who pulled out in front of the chasing vehicle. That is called an accident. Your son running on a stolen motorcycle is called a Felony. There is a definite difference between the two. Are you looking for someone to side with you and say the truck driver is at fault? That's just wrong and you know it deep down...

Let's think about this for a minute....If your son wouldn't have stolen the motorcycle, an officer wouldn't have been chasing him, now would he? And if the officer wouldn't have been chasing your son, he wouldn't have had to swerve to miss the truck that your son obviously pulled out in front of. Your son was not complying with the legal lawful request of the police officer, therefore causing the officer to pursue your son. IT IS YOUR SON'S FAULT, FACE IT!

I spent 20 months in Oklahoma prison for forgery. First, we live in the most back *** ward state in the union. My advice, take a loan out and get your son the best criminal attorney in OKC. If they are out to get you, they will. I have went through the whole thing - and now I'm free, thank GOD! The thing is, your son was running from this cop when he was killed. But, there are loop holes and with the right attorney, you will get a better judgment. I've seen people use legal aid and get less time. But, really I would get the best attorney that money can by. Oklahoma county jail is not the place to be for anyone. I was hauled in for a 20 year old warrant (long story) but it was dismissed. But, like I said, money talks and ____________walks. Start reading the laws on the net for Oklahoma. Researching yourself pays off. At least you will know that the attorney is not selling your son out, and that happens everyday in this God forsaken state. Good Luck!

I am not sure what the question is here. As a parent I can't imagine what it feels like for you having to go through that with your son.
But, your son was committing a felony by fleeing from the police. And in the commission of that felony a police officer died. The other driver, who may not have even been committing a traffic violation, found himself involved in the chase. The death was not caused by the other driver, it was caused by your son fleeing.

so whats your question?
The way they look at it is that your son recklessly endangered both the policeman and the civilian. And he is responsible for the cops death because of the fact that he was being chased by the police and because of his actions, the police was hit by an unsuspecting vehicle and died. Its pretty obvious your son will be incarcerated.
I will face 2 years in prison soon. Im trying to find out tips to surviving in prison because it is hardest for us young bucks especially. We are like fresh meat and we will be constantly tested during out stay. I suggest he learn how to fight as well as he can, work out, and learn how to use stabbing weapons if he wants to survive or hold on to his dignity. I am willing to do whatever it takes to live in that cage filled with animals. They are all demons... its like a hell there. every day is like gladiator life...

REASON: Policeman got in the wreck BECAUSE he had to chase your son for breaking the law. Therefore, your son was at fault. Get a good lawyer. If your son can be held responsible to YOU, then if I was a family member of the fallen police officer, I'll be looking to take you to court in a civil trial. ($$$)

If this question is for real, both you and your son need to be locked up and the key thrown away. You are a poor excuse for a father and a human being and your son isn't much better. Both of you did wrong.
Do better.

This is a tough one. For one thing, police officers in pursuit, although they can exceed the speed limit, cannot operate they vehicles in such a manner to endanger the public, or themselves. This appears to be an tragic traffic accident caused by the truck driver, althoiugh the officer was in pursuit.
Yes, the police office was chasing your son at the time, but 2nd degree murder is a very stiff sentence. I would hire a lawyer and try to get this conviction overturned to a lesser sentence.

is there a question here? Just because there is a question mark in your sentence doesn't make it a question.
Possible questions to ask:
Should I disown my son and let him rot in prison?
I want to apologize to the fallen officer's family, should I attempt to?
I hate my son for what he did to our family, Is this wrong?
How can I get on with my life after this tragedy?
