Some cats just never grow up.It sometimes takes kids a long time to give up their dummies or their security blanket so you just have one of those special cats. Possibly you could give him his own special blanket and advise him that it is the only one he can suck on or else he gets in trouble (take him off others with strong words) so good luck.

Kitty has a security blanket!! lol!!
It's ok. Your kitty just found something he likes to play with that is comfy. Chances are, it smells like you, and kitties want to be close to you. So that is his way of doing it.
I gave my kitty a little pillow, about 2" or so square. She grabbed it with both paws, hugged it, rubbed her neck with it, loved on it. She just loved that thing!
You don't have any problems, it all good!
PS.... My kitty is small. She can flatten out, crawl under the bathroom door........and she hops up on the side of the tub and stares at you while you're sitting on the toilet. Now THAT is unnerving!! lol

If a kitten is taken away from their mother too soon, they are not weened appropriately. When this happens, they do not learn to "let go" of that natural instinct of nursing. PS: I call the pawing thing "Happy Cattin'", lol.

My cat does the same thing, but I rescued her from outside when she was very little and fed her with an eyedropper. I just figure she had not completed her mother's nursing and has separation anxiety. My other cat does not do that, as she was with her mother for eight weeks. Don't know what your cat's situation was when toy got him/her, but it releases tension for them and brings them much comfort.

Not a weird cat. Just one that may have been removed from mama too early. It's also a comfort thing...who knows!

No he is not weird. He may have been taken away from his mum too early. When we brought home our female kitten, she starting suckling on our male cat! He didn't mind! 2 years later and I still occasionally see her doing it.

it reminds him of his mummy.
the pawing thing is the suckling,
kittens do that to their mummy to make her milk flow during feeding time..
so i guess he feels comfortable with ur blanket.
