It was in Morgantown, WV, and I'm underage, does anyone have any idea about how much this is going to cost me?

i actually dropped it when they drove up, and I'm a sophomore in college.. they told me they could also have given me an underage and littering, but they gave me a ticket only for the open container which was jungle juice.. i told them to breathalize me but they didnt, and i picked up the cup and told them it wasn't alcohol and to taste it.

So your a college student at WVU I would imagine. You could as the law students there but don't worry. It will probably cost you a minor fee (less than a traffic violation) and a simple slap on the wrist. Don't worry about it, the judges see it so much there that they are practically numb to offenses like this.

Does underage mean under 21 (too young to possess alcohol), or under 18 (a minor).

In Ohio (can't speak for WV), the open container is a minor misdemeanor (just a fine). But the underage possession of alcohol is potential jailtime. It is going to be up to the judge and how the local court usually handles it.

You're underage. That means you can not POSSESS any beverage containing alcohol. Even to a police officer, if you're "just holding it so the other guy can tie his shoes", you are still the one in POSSESSION. The officer won't care and then cite you so you can explain it to the judge.

the law has become very strict on alchol use these days. You probably will get you drivers license susoended for a while and an enormous fine and possible jail time. I wish you the best of luck in this.

How old? If you're under 18 then it will cost your parents not you. Also if you're under 18 you're more likely to get probation, if you're over 18 then probably in the range of 200 plus probation.
