I have a 11-month old Golden Retriever (named: Rico).
In general, he doesn't like dry food.. but he has to eat it!
He eats twice a day (10:00AM, 7:00PM) .. bowls stays there for only 20mins! .. of course he wont eat unless someone tells him to eat or pets him to do it. But recently, he's not eating anything!

Today morning he didn't eat anything! He keeps on biting the grass or anything around..

We use Eukanuba Puppy-Large breed (because he hasn't turned 1 year)

So.. What can I do to make him LOVE food time?

I'm going to take him to the vet in 30mins, and yes I did try rubbing the food on his tongue.
___
But, I would like suggestions from the pet owners (you guys) themselves on how to make dog food more delicious or more tempting.
___
What is the best type of dry food then?

I would take him to the vet and have him checked. Eating grass is usually a sign that he isn't feeling well, so he may be just having a little up set. But I would suggest that you take him in and get him checked out, we don't want the little guy not feeling well.

He may have eaten some thing that just up set him. He may just not like the type of dog food that you are giving him. Animals can be just as picky as people can be at times. My lab once had an up set I took her to the vet, he had me cooking chicken and rice for her until she got past the problem. After that she didn't want to eat dog food again, it took a while before she stopped looking at her food like you really expect me to eat that!! She was pretty funny, and way too cute. After that she really didn't like the canned dog food as much, but I did manage to get her to eat some with the dry food.

Have you tried putting some wet dog food in with his dry food, this may tempt him to eat better. Another thing that you can do is put a little bit of hot water in with the canned dog food and dry dog food, that will make your dog think it is getting some thing different. You will need to stir it all up together. He may think it's some kind of treat that he is getting.

But do take you baby to the vet if you haven't done so yet, and have him checked over just to make sure every thing is alright.

They sure can make us worry about them some times, I'm sure he will be just fine.

Good luck to you both, I hope he is alright.

Maybe he simply does not like

I am going to suggest Canidae the meat content is a lot higher
iof he checks out healthwise
It is an all stages food which means can be feed to dogs of all ages so you won't have to change foods again when he becomes an adult
their website has a store locator on it

Maybe your pup wants a bit of variety. Boil a chicken thigh till lightly cooked, cut it into small pieces and mix it with cooked rice. Chicken is good for dogs and rice is easy on the stomach, so your pup will have a yummy dinner and will feel great.

Did you try putting a little food on your finger and rubbing it on Rico's tongue. Maybe he has lost his appetite and the food may trigger him to eat again. It worked once with a dog my aunt had. (we used spaghetti sauce and a little grape juice) Best of luck to you and Rico.
