There has to be a reason for why these things happen but I know for a fact that God wouldn't LET us suffer.

If you want a jewel made of gold and if you want it in a specific design you hand over the required quantity of gold to the goldsmith and tell him the design. There ends the matter. The jewel is made after the gold is heated in the crucible and it is cut to required shape and size and it is drawn into thin wire bent to shape struck in the anvil with the tools and after undergoing all this treatment only it is made as a jewel of required design. If you instruct the goldsmith not to put it in crucible or hit or drawn into thin wire, the smith can never make a jewel out of the gold. God is the goldsmith, we are the lumps of gold awaiting to be made into a jewel in the hands of god. Can you expect to become a jewel without all the sufferings. If you want sugar from a sugarcane what you do. You crush it, remove the juice and boil it, filter it add chemicals for cleaning etc. Finally sugar is made. Can the sugarcane become sugar without all the crushing and heating. Likewise we are the raw material which have to be made a product. How god can achieve it without crushing and heating or boiling? Hope you understand.

Seeing as how god doesn't exist, god doesn't permit suffering. The only ones who permit suffering are us silly humans. If we didn't want to suffer, then we would stop our petty squabbling, end all wars, use our feet instead of cars and spend less time on our asses in front of computers asking questions of strangers and get out and enjoy life.

We are a victim of our own circumstance.

Thumbs down huh. Looks like I found the next bunch of idiots who can't handle the truth.

Suffering can result either in a reward for the sufferer as he is paying his debt in life like penance or it can be payment/punishment for ill-doing toward others. Both ways, the sufferer is rewarded for his suffering as he has paid it in the life of this world so he doesn't pay it in the hereafter or he is making payment in the world now for some wrongdoing and not in the hereafter. So if you've done something wrong to someone, you will suffer and sometimes when you have done no wrong so as to increase your reward in the hereafter.

As far As I know god does not permit sufferings or enjoyment, we humans do it and when things go wrong we want to find someone to blame so we say that god did it.

there is one universal rule that if you do some thing then you will bare the consequences for it . this rule applies to god also so I don't think that he knowing this will do any thing. he is just observing everything with out any attachment it is we only who do everything .

He is testing our worthiness of life. If we help people who are suffering he will find us worthy, if we do nothing to help people he will wipe us out. I know many people suffer, and I think it is sad, but I am not suffering and I thank God for his grace and I never take it for granted. Bless those who are in pain, feel lucky if you are happy and in good health.

This is actually a classic philosophical question. Many have come to call it "the problem of evil".

Some people will contend that it is because of the presence of free will. That is, if God imposed his values upon us without our own conscious choice, then we'd not actually have free will.

Others will say that God allows bad things to happen so that we can come to appreciate goodness in the world.

Check my sources for more information and other ideas about the problem of evil.

Hope this helps!

most christians will say that suffering is caused by the devil or our sinning. my argument is that if you give credit for the good in life to god then you also have to credit the bad in life to god. its crazy to me how winners in sports or whatever thank god, do they really believe that god chose them to win over another christian?

If anybody here tells you they know the reason then they are lying. They are just making assumptions that are biased by their particular flavour of religion.
