I lived in thailand about 7 years ago and I am looking for a very good Thai friend who may not be connected to the internet, what is the best way to do this?

Hey Everyone, I have been getting great answers to this. I think I will start with the newspaper ad. I never thought of it, and that's a great idea! I am not actually in Thailand or I think I could find him. Thank you!

i agree the local newspaper would be the best way to find them, if you have a picture it would increase your changes. however i won't post it in the bangkok post i think your be wasting your time, try a local paper in the area where he lived. and if you know where the family is from there also, since your thai friend may move but usually the parents don't.

It's pretty easy. Just advertise in a Thai language newspaper in the area where he/she was last staying and give your contact details. Unless the person has moved away from that last known address, you stand a good chance to meet him/ her again or at least, renew your contact. There is a Thai website- www.sanook.com as well and I was told they offer some such a service to trace people. But since your friend might not be connected to the Internet, you might find it of little use.

You can go back to your old place and ask around. The Thais do not uproot themselves much except for redevelopment or change of lease or work related. So someone in the old town/city/village is bound to be able to provide some help.

Or advertise in the local papers as most Thais do read the papers all over the country.

I think this try may be help

Write down the details, name, personality,
where is the last place you met?

Just sent mail to one of your thai friend? Or if you don't have, send to me, I will help

Here, our internet community, we have a lot of forwarding mails to friends, Some about missing people, missing kids, or even blood donation. etc.

Ever the person you are looking for, is not normal access the internet, but maybe his/her relatives use internet, So this way may be help.

And it's no cost, and will be huge number of multiple internet users,

Let try, if you really need to find him/her, I think even this way is not the best way, But just try.

Good luck

I think you could try an ad in the local paper or one of the English language papers like "The Bangkok Post"
