I almost died the 1st time and was in & out of the hospital several times. The 2nd time was after a tummy tuck and was very ill for a long time. Is this still in my system waiting for me to have another surgery and will I have to do the Vancomiacin intaveinously again? I don't think I can handle being that sick again and I am very frightened.

If it is not necassary surgery I would recommend you avoid it. but lets assume its not. Depending on your hospitals policy, I would imagine that they might give you vancomycin before the surgery to try to stop any potential infection from getting a foothold. Due to the nature of MRSA, we have to use the nasty antibiotics on it, its just the way it is, sorry. There is a second antibiotic that has recently come onto the market, although its name has escaped me, you could try asking your doctor for that, although to be honest it will have similar side effects.

You will have MRSA on your skin, but there is not gaurentee that you become infected. You just have to hope.

Stop doing those rediculous make-over surgeries unless you would die for them, your free choice. No real physician who cares about your health and well being would subject you to that with your history, they only want you money. So, how has your life improved since you almost died? IT DIDN'T But you can always be tested to see if you have it which that numbskull should have done already. You need to get healthy first, then your self-esteem will change
