I don't think it's a con - you do get the card, but in order to get it you also have to sign up to lots of other offers, which means giving away personal details about yourself and your email address, this gets sold to hundreds of other companies which leads to you getting hundreds of spam emails and junk in the mail. It's really not worth it

See the attached website for a blog on this. It is just a way of getting an email address so they can send you all kinds of wonderful offers for stuff you'll never need.

I googled it when I first saw "the offer" just before Xmas and found lots of stuff saying don't do it unless you're a spam fan! There are also lots of other offers about winning a free HD TV or an XBox or an iPod. I tried the one about an iPod, and never got anything except spam to a dummy email address, so I think it is a con.

I dont know! Is it actaully from Tesco's? If it is it wont be a con as Tescos are pretty good that way!

If ifs one of these email offers from some random company then its probaly a con!

Don't know about Tesco cus I'm a yank but over here, different stores offer cards like that online and you have to take anywhere up to a dozen pages of surveys and in the end, they expect you to fork over your credit card number and order one or perhaps two items (or more) from their list and then MAYBE you'll get said gift card.

Old adage: you get what you pay for.

I haven't heard of anyone ever getting one--not to say that it doesnn't happen. BUT!

It's a con, leading to a load of junk arrivng in your email. Nothing to do with Tesco themselves, by the way.

It's just a con. You have to link to a site, and pass on the details of several friends.
