Avoid tea (unless decaf) & other caffeine ingredients (e.g. coffee, soft drinks, chocolate) close to bedtime. It can keep you awake. Caffeine is a stimulant, which means it can produce an alerting effect. Caffeine products, such as coffee, tea, colas and chocolate, remain in the body on average from 3 to 5 hours, but they can affect some people up to 12 hours later. Even if you do not think caffeine affects you, it may be disrupting and changing the quality of your sleep. Avoiding caffeine within 6-8 hours of going to bed can help improve sleep quality.

Proper diet for keeping a healthy weight involves a large breakfast, a snack, medium lunch, snack, small dinner, possibly a snack - then bedtime.
This is how humans (and other omnivores) are basically designed to eat. Drinking tea should have no effect, although most people have difficulty sleeping if they drink caffeinated tea (or other beverage).... some do find it soothing.
Regardless, yes, its heathier not to eat before bed time, those calories are generally turned to fat, rather than used for energy during the day.

It is suggested not to have Tea or coffee at night. Intoxicants contained in these drink, will affect your normal sleep. It is always suggested to have dinner before 7.30 pm.,followed by a stroll or walk . It is the best food habit, not only for dieting. Follow this you will have 7-8 hours of sound sleep. No hang overs next morning and mainly problem of indigestion.

It is good for general well being as u sleep on light stomach.
Eat only when hungry and that too not more than three times a day. Include uncooked vegetables and fresh fruits in ur meals. No food/drink other than water in between. Chew each morsel at least 32 times and u will notice that u get intuition to stop eating as soon as u have had enough.
Take light exercises and brisk walks regularly preferably twice a day.
U will achieve ur ideal weight in a reasonable period. Do not panic to loose it fast.

Always try to be on the middle. Don't drink tea or eat too much food unless you are subjected. Don't drink tea at night for it makes you sleeping less comfortable.

Depends on the tea, after 6PM you should really stick to the Herbal Infusions ( to cut down on the caffeine before bed).
It can help you lose weight if you don't eat 2-4 hours before you go to bed. It gives you body a chance to digest the food before you sleep.
