I want to record a simple song onto my computer is there any software in my windows (im using windows XP) to do this then send the file to a cd (this bit i know i can do) just how do i record the song (from me through a mic) thanks in advance.

Yes. Go to Start, Programs, Accessories, Entertainment, and you'll find Sound Recorder.

That'll do it.

Hi!

I use a program called Easy MP3 Sound Recorder... You can get it free from www.download.com.

It does good recorgings and despite its name can do Wav's too. Hi quality too straight from your mic....

Despite what the guy above says you cant use sound recorder as it inly records 1 min max....

Audacity is a good free sound editing program that lets you record and do basic editing, mixing multiple tracks, and some effects.

in windows xp there is only one recorder

jst click on

Start> Programs> Accessories> Entertainment> Sound Recorder.

Or u can use
"1st sound recorder"
its the best one...

from google u can search and download it...

U goto startMenu-->> All Programs-->> Accessories and from there u point to Entertainment-->> Sound Recorder..
