My lower wisdom tooth has come through but there is still a flap of skin from where it pushed through the gum. What will happen to this because it is quite sore especially after i eat?

It will eventually shrink back on its own. Keep it clean using a mouthwash of warm salty water. If it gets really sore then visit your dentist. There are a couple of things he can do to help you. He may adjust your bite on the upper tooth or you may need to have the flap of gum taken away. \I'm a dental nurse and its really common. Good Luck! Gxx

Will you be removing your wisdom teeth soon or keeping them? I'm sure it will just heal but if it is causing you serious discomfort a dentist or dental surgeon can fix that for you. Either way if your wisdom teeth cause you pain you'll want to have them removed. When I had all 4 of mine removed I had a skin flap after they removed the stitches. It healed itself in less than a month.

Hey, I've got that too, but gradually over time it just gets smaller and smaller, sometimes it hurts, like if I get something stuck under it, other times I don't even notice it. I'd go with what the others have said - if it's bothering you, ask your dentist about it, otherwise just keep an eye on it to make sure it's not setting up a pocket of infection which can happen.

It'll eventually wear on away or die from lack of proper blood supply and you'll lose bits and pieces of it while eating until it's gone without your even realizing it.

Just keep an eye on it and make sure it's not getting infected or puss filled back there.
