It sounds french. Here in Quebec where I live it would be spelled Gregoire. OHHH I just sounded out your version sorry I dont like it. It begs for a kid that stands away from all the kids alone, lonely sad and teased.

I think its a great name if you're fighting beowulf or want to be named after one of the mechanisms on european tractors. Don't do it. Especially if its a girl. It just doesn't roll off the tongue.

If you like it....it's from "Grégoire" that's french. In english "Gregory." "Grig"or "Greg", I think "Greg"sounds better.
